Fiction Book Writing

Genre fiction written from your premise, characters, and voice notes.

  • Free consultation
  • A written quote, specific to your book
  • You keep full ownership
Overview

Mystery, romance, fantasy, thriller, literary: built from your premise and character notes into a structured draft, with the outline agreed before a chapter is written so plot problems surface on paper, not on page 200.

We write fiction for authors in Chicago and across the United States who have the story but not the time, or who have started a novel and need help finishing it.

Process

A simple 6-step process that keeps your book moving forward

The same clear sequence on every project: you always know what happens next.

  1. Discovery

We start by understanding your idea, goals, audience, and the stage you are currently at.

  2. Planning

The structure, content, and overall approach are organized so everything has clarity from the beginning.

  3. Strategy

We create a clear direction for your project, including the right service recommendations and a practical roadmap.

  4. Creation

We begin the writing, development, editing, or design work based on your project needs.

  5. Refinement

The work is polished, reviewed, and prepared to meet professional publishing standards.

  6. Publishing & Growth

Once the work is ready, we guide you toward publishing, presentation, and the next steps for author growth.

Before we start

Before we start

From scattered ideas to a finished manuscript. Good fiction book writing starts with the decisions behind the work. Here is what to think about, what to prepare, and how to make your reviews more useful.

Note

Start with the idea.
We handle the pages.

  1. Know what the book is about

Decide what holds it together: a central question, a change the reader goes through, a practical framework, or a story someone needs to hear. That thread gives each chapter a reason to exist and makes the writing easier to judge as it arrives.

  2. Give your voice a reference point

Share a few paragraphs you have written, a recording of you talking, or an email that sounds like you. Tell us the phrases you use and the tone you want to avoid. A clear voice reference keeps the writing yours from the first chapter.

  3. Approve the structure before the chapters

An outline is the cheapest place to fix a book. Review the sequence and the gaps, and ask for a sample section before the whole manuscript is drafted. Changing direction at the outline stage costs days; at the end it costs months.

Come with an idea. Leave with a clear direction.

Bring your current material, your intended readers, a few references you like, and any deadline that matters. We will talk through the work and confirm what belongs in your scope.

Common questions about fiction book writing.

Which genres do you write?

Mystery, thriller, romance, fantasy, science fiction, literary fiction, and children's fiction. Tell us your genre and we will match the writer.

How involved will I be?

As involved as you want to be. At minimum you approve the outline and review chapters as they arrive.

Who owns the finished novel?

You do. You retain full ownership of your manuscript and publish it under your own name.

Can you help after the draft is written?

Yes. Book Editing, Book Cover Design, Book Formatting, and Book Publishing are all available as next steps.

  1. A consultant reads it

A publishing consultant looks at what you sent and gets back to you within one business day.

  2. A free consultation

A call about your book, your goals and where it stands. No pressure to commit on the call.
